My mom didn't do crap for us. My sister had he rbaby at 15 was taking care of my mommas bills, bought her own car paid for daycare and finished highschool. I still don't even have my license because my mom wouldn't teach me to drive smh. She didn't buy any of her kids a car or helped them with college. But my other sister can live with her and not pay a dime 🤷🏼‍♀️.

Yeeeep. I've seen it too many times. Thankfully my parents aren't like that but I know many that are & it's sad.

@vicky810, I know a lot of black moms that Will let their son be lazy, or live in the house and hang out and stay however long he wants and when it comes to their daughters oh no!!!!!! None of that. It's more of s competition than anything!

I use to always tell pple my mom is miserable and jealous and I was right!!!!!!!

I always say Legally a child is an adult when they are 18 but that does not make them grown or have an adult mentality. So my kids won't be leaving my house until I've taught them allllllll that it is to know! I'm gonna give them honesty and teach them how the world works!

When I worked at Pizza Hut when I was 17, I had a mixed coworker who was 16 at a different store who's mom made him pay $800/month, I only had to pay $100. I was like holy shit man. That's nuts. I was also paying because my family needed help, his mom was just greedy. 👎

My parents were drug addicts and alcoholics who mooched off their parents as adults. My nana paid our rent until I turned 18, then my parents picked up my grandpa and kinda forced him to live with us so he could pay our bills. When I was 20 and pregnant I got the F out of that! Idk if that proves your point or not... i remember my parents expected ME to pay for THEIR weed, my dad's cigarettes, their booze and take them out to dinner because I was the only one employed... I had to do my own thing because my parents were pieces of shit.

I stayed with my parents until I was 21, they did not make me pay rent however I chipped in for groceries, paid whatever I could if there were any issues with bills, and I made sure to always help around the house. I chose to do those things to help them but all that was required of me was that I work full-time. If not for them helping me I would not be able to have the lifestyle I have now. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with me being white, I think it's just I am lucky to have the parents I do. They weren't well off at all, but they wanted to help me and see me succeed.

I have a rule, if my kids still live at home after they graduate school they eithet 1) better have a job and be saving or 2) they better be in college. I wont let my children be lazy
