To all the mommies who have previously been induced, can you tell me what to expect? I started crying when I was told I have to go in on Sunday to get the ball rolling. 😓

I was induced at 39 weeks with my son due to gestational diabetes and my blood pressure had started going up. To me I wouldn't have had it any other way...I know that sounds crazy but I went in at 6:30 A.M and started pitocin around 7 A.M. Around lunch I got my epidural and around 3 the broke my water and at 5:11 P.M he was here. I had absolutely no pain and everything progressed smoothly for me. The only bad thing I can say about it is that after the baby is born I had to get 2 more IV bags of pitocin to make your uterus keep contracting down and I did have some pain from those but not terrible.

@careylee, so it is a fast procedure? They want to induce me because she's a bit on the small side (she's small but she's healthy). And thank you, your experience calms me down a lot. I hope it's the same for me. The doctor just worried me saying it can range from 4 hours to 4 days. Thank you so much

I loved my induction! My labor only lasted 6 hours, and I pushed for 15 minutes! I wouldn't mind if I had to be induced with this one!

I got induced at 40 weeks 4 days and it took 3 days for him to be born 2 epidurals and 2 rounds of stadol it was very painful for me the contractions started to get very painful as soon as they broke my water I couldn't take the pain so they put stadol in my IV so I could sleep the first epidural didn't work I felt everything I was in so much pain so they re did the epidural with a spinal block. That epidural wore off right as I had to push I felt everything it's very tiring make sure you get some sleep stadol helps so much and once you feel that burning you're almost done keep pushing as hard as you can like you're taking a very big poop I pushed for under an hour and he was born it's a painful process but it's worth it in the end you'll forget the pain soon as you see your baby good luck ! Also stand in the shower with hot water on your back and stomach for the pain and walk around before getting the epidural it helps move the baby down
