How do you make friends as a mom?

I feel like I've gotten way more shy. There's two girls I went to high school with, one has a baby under a year old and the other has a two yr old, I would love to catch up with them and have like a play date but I don't ask because I'm sure they are very busy and plus they have other friends. This is why I don't go out :/
