Pushing out a baby is a lot of strain on our backs as well. It could be a mixture. After my birth all my muscles were hurt. Lower back pain is still an issues for me.
The first few months were terrible but my physical therapist said it wasn't related to my epidural. It was more so my body not being used to holding a baby human 24/7!

I've never experienced back pain due to the epidural.
