Morning mummies maybe I need to clarify. From next month nursery hours will change from 15 to 30 hours for 3-4 year olds…

I thought you could only get the 30hours free if both parents were working?

Yeah that's what I was told. By my child's nursery or if the mum was the sole carer has to be the mum who's working @beffgoude,

@beffgoude I think the increase is if both parents are doing 16 hours minimum

@mum2sky no, I'm easily confused with it all! And yeh I knew about the 15hr cause I didn't really have to fill much paper work in for Brody this year cause it just rolled over from term before.

But the 30hr was confusing for me, cause I thought it I was like a scheme. where every £6 you spent government gave you a £1 or something like that. So they paid so much towards it?

I thought 3 years above get it free? X

@beffgoude I just read the article. It says that there's a new scheme replacing the childcare vouchers where for every 8 pounds you save 2 pounds. But for households where one parent works they should stick to the childcare vouchers. It's so confusing lol @19steph89 yeah hun they are both free but the 15 hours are for employed and unemployed and the 30 hours are only for both parents employed and working over 16 hours. I'm not sure what it is if just one parent works im still trying to figure it out lol x

@19steph89 @beffgoude right so I googled it lol and it says that if you're a single parent and work over 16 hours you are entitled to the 30 hours also. Finally got there in the end x
