Ok what's better with a 1yo flying: carseat on the plane or gate check it? This is all new to me and a spur of the moment trip so give me all of your traveling tips!
I'd say carseat, since it's more comfortable for everyone. He's flown 6 times now, and he sleeps at least half of the flight since he's in the carseat. We've had some 2 hour flights and some 6 hour flights.
Just make sure you have new toys and food, maybe a movie, and you can bring a bottle of water (for formula) and baby food through security, since it's for the baby.
You can hold your one yr old and not pay a dime! Check the carseat as you are getting on the plane if you want. If you want to take the carseat on the plane for a seat, you'll have to purchase a plane ticket.
I really don't want to scare you.. lol my child was difficult, we brought bottles for those times but he refused to have them. He didn't seem to have any ear pain, just pissed off lol
@j.andtaysmama ugh yeah I'm worried about that! We got another seat so he could sit if he wanted to. I'm not sure if he would even want to stay in his car seat but I'm worried about how it would get handled if I checked it so I'm so conflicted! I guess there's no harm in just bringing it on?
When we flew with our 15mo at the time, we had him on our lap and it was AWFUL! He didn't understand that he couldn't get down and run around. He screamed and cried basically the whole 5hr flight. I wish we would have had his car seat. But all kids will act differently.. just what happened with us!😬
