HELPP. I have a sudden toothache that is the second worst pain I have EVER experienced. I have 2 top wisdom teeth, both have cavities, one on the left is worse. The pain is so bad right now, it's hurting everything on that side. All of my left teeth hurt, jaw, ear, eye, neck, shoulder.. I took 2 Tylenol, and used a heating pad, buts it's not providing any relief at all.
The pain is so bad, I feel nauseous, and my stomach is tight and cramping, causing baby to kick like crazy

@danielswifey it feels more like the pain is from the tooth trying to grow in more. It's really bad pressure, making all my nerves go nuts.
Orajel, warm salt water, anything topical hasn't helped

@joanna.davis instead of a heating pad, try using an ice pack on your face an jaw to relieve some of the swelling.

@joanna.davis i find that motrin works way better then tylenol, especially where tooth pain and internal swelling of the gums is concerned but its a No-No during pregnancy. It sounds like you have an infection and need a root canal, thats the only permanent fix for the pain at this point ! :( It sucks but it will keep going away and returning until the infection is gone and the tooth restored. Pregnancy takes a huge toll on teeth in general making it easier for you to get cavities and infections, especially if youre genetically more at risk for such things. I hope you feel better soon! Tooth pain is no joke.

@joanna.davis CVS and Walgreens also sell temporary fillings along with clove oil numbing agent that you can check out while you wait to see a dentist so that the tooth stays as clean as possible and the numbing agent will help make the pain a little more bearable temporarily.

@simplyshantell It's my wisdom tooth, so I need to have those removed anyway. I saw a dentist and oral surgeon not too long ago, to decide if I should have them removed during second trimester, or wait until after pregnancy. At that time the pain was completely manageable with Tylenol and a heating pad, so they said I should wait. Last night is the first time I couldn't stop the pain, I just had to ride it out until it finally lightened up 😣

@joanna.davis ohhhh, i see. I think you should get the affected wisdom teeth removed. Since you already went, I would think they wouldnt need to take another X-ray (the covers for your tummy dont block any of the radiant energy, really) its mostly to block a small percentage of it but studies show it doesn't stop the radiation regardless. As long as they already have the images its safe to get them pulled because if you dont its just going to get worse.. I would rather you get them pulled then have a severe infection possibly spread to other teeth and have to take antibiotics, which would be worse. Some dentists dont like to do it later in pregnancy, some do. If you have an infection though I would think they would want to pull it rather then wait another couple of months for it to get worse!

@simplyshantell they actually said at the time that if I were to end up with an infection they should be able to manage it with antibiotics until after the baby is born.
I don't think there is an infection at this point though. It felt like the tooth was growing in more, and putting pressure on all of my other teeth. I haven't had any trouble since the other night though
