When your little one has a fever do you all alternate between Infant Tylenol and Infant Motrin? I know my babies doctor told us once before it's a good idea to alternate between the two for fevers. I'm asking because my 18 month old been getting a fever only at night time for the last 2-3 nights. I'm taking him in the morning to the doctor but I'm trying to see if I should alternate between Motrin and Tylenol because I heard Motrin isn't good for babies due to it containing ibuprofen which can cause stools to be black ,etc.

Mine are older but yes I alternate between the two only when they have high fevers.

When my baby had surgery back in Dec.2016 the doctors told me to do it because after he was going to have fevers they also said to do it every 4 hours like give him Tylenol let 4 hrs go by & give him Motrin.

When my son had a fever after his six months shots (it went as high as 105)took him to the hospital & the hospital told me to alternate between the two. Took his fever away !

@kyenkenmom, yes I read that lol sorry. Yes you could alternate between the two. Is he teething? When mine do they usually get fevers at night also.

@kreese88, I think he might be teething because every time he's teething he get these cold like symptoms and fevers...but he is acting perfectly fine, I just want the doctor to check him to make sure it's not contagious for my 5 week old
