If they tell you to sleep because nothing exciting is happening, SLEEP! Lol. I stayed awake all day, hen was induced at like midnight or something, and they suggested i sleep and I was too excited. Made me extremely tired and it was hard to push when it was really time.
Get the epideral if things don't move along. Take a nap and walk a bit. Make sure to save your strength for the pushing. I was induced too and didn't start pushing until 20 hrs after they started the induction, and pushed for a hour and 20 mins . Good luck and welcome to motherhood it's amazing 😍
@newmommyathenia, I was 3cm 50% effaced when I went in. Didn't really start dialating until the pitocin hit 16ml per unit. Just be patient and relax when you relax it's easier for your body to do it's thang
@newmommyathenia, im not sure I know they started me with tiny little pills and then after the pitocin. I think they start with one method and then move on from there . If the balloon doesn't get your body going I assume they will do the pitocin so it can do the job
Definitely agree with some of the previous comments: sleep when you can before you need to push, if the medicine takes some time to have any effect. Also, get the epidural if progress slows or stops. And in my experience (only a couple weeks ago) getting out of bed and sitting on the yoga ball the hospital had helped a lot with cramping and pain while I was waiting for my induction to progress.
Wishing you a painless and quick birth. Best of luck! 💥🎊🎉
I was 2 cm dilated and not in active labor when I got pitocin since my water was leaking. It took a LONG time to progress. I was in labor for 14 hours then. Yours may be faster but my experience is induction takes longer. With my daughter who came all on her own, I was in labor for 12 hours. So just be patient 😊
I was induce I opened up to 3cm then they started pitocin and contractions got really strong, intense and painful, the I asked epidural still at 3cm the 30 mins after epidural my water broke and I opened up till 10cm. I was 8hrs in labor and everything happened very fast after epidural I only pushed for 15mins and my baby was out.... Good luck mama 😘👶😃

I was in labor for 18 hours and pushed for 3 hours when I was induced so it can take longer when you have a induction @newmommyathenia
