Everyone is different and can experience different side effects or none at all. With Depo I gained wait and got depressed, I'm on the mini pill, now and the only thing I experienced was bad cramping during the first month.

I gained alot if weight on all the birth control I used. I'm currently on the copper IUD and it doesn't have hormones so in it so I'm hopeing it doesnt make me gain weight
