For any moms about to give birth... I highly suggest not to be asking the nurses to check how dilated you are. Specially if your water is broken... Every-time they put gloves on and check you it increases your risk of getting any type of infection into your vaginal wall which your baby can contract while exiting. My son got E. Coli while exiting, and that's why I'm suggesting this advice to you all. When you have opened up fully and baby's head is passing through the canal you will be able to tell! It feels like something is dropping fast, and you can't hold it in. It's also this immense pressure as baby's head falls and exits.
