After being in prodromal labor for a month, Tuesday morning at around 8:30 I woke up with some sharp pains. An hour later I had some bleeding so I knew it was time. We arrived at the hospital at 12:50 and I was already 5-6 cm dilated! Literally every other contraction was worse than the last. By 2pm I was in so much pain I was starting to doubt myself. "I don't have to do this. I don't have to be strong. Give me the epidural!" I called the nurse in begging for that needle in my back. She told me I was doing an amazing job and that I was very much in control of my body. 30 minutes later I told Edwin to grab the nurse again because the baby was coming! The nurse came back to check and I was 8cm dilated and my bag of waters was bulging. Everything moved so fast after that and there was no time for an epidural. The contractions were right on top of each other at that point. It's almost 3 and I'm screaming that it was time to push. Doctor came in to break my water and 2 pushes later little Alessia was born ❤️
