Zaid's had a rash on his upper back and shoulders for 2 weeks now. It wasn't irritating him so I didn't take him doctors (also because I wasn't actually getting through to the switchboard of my surgery every single day I called for a week). Yesterday however it spread to his face. Went doctors. And same old bullshit as usual. They gave me ANOTHER type of eczema cream, he already has 3 types and I've had eczema all my life, I know what's on his skin right now isn't eczema! So then he's like maybe it's viral. I said it's been 2 weeks already if it's not gone in a week what do I do? Apparently I do Nothing. Nothing?! I don't get the point of doctors when every time I go they can't give me a diagnosis. Last time they put him on antibiotics which caused him a rash and then I go back and the doctor says they should never have prescribed that for you. Sick of this!

Max has had what feels like a dozen rashes since he was born & I used to take him to the doctors in the early days. Now I've learnt, if their eating/ drinking & are fine in themselves it's probably just viral, or a reaction. Their skin is so sensitive so it could be from anything. I just keep Max lotioned up & make sure he's generally fine with everything else. There isn't much else they can do.

If you can buy some of this cream. Evelyn was forever getting creams for her eczema on her face but nothing worked and if anything made it worse. I bought this about 3 days ago and already her skin is softer and the spots on her face are slowly disappearing. She's had them really bad since about 4 months old so seeing her with almost smooth skin is amazing

@sara-lou86 I just wish I had a definitive answer as to what the rash is. Hurts to see thier skin so irritated :( Agreed though, that's why I didn't take him docs in the first place, it comes and goes.

Yeh it's frustrating at times. It's happened so many times with Max. He was so sensitive to a lot of creams. O find aveeno works wonders on both my boys now but that was after trying quite a few others!

A viral rash essentially means they cant diagnose it. If i was your doctor id suggest an allergy test... 😕
Noshin·
@claremagsbell I asked for that, apparently a blood test is much too distressing at his age so they're not willing to offer that.

And having a rash is a box of chocolates for the poor child as well as pouring potions all over him that he may not need
Noshin·
@claremagsbell Not just that, but prescribing 4 different versions of the same thing, no matter what reason I come about! The last time they gave him an eczema lotion was after they had prescribed him antibiotics he didn't need which caused him a rash, even I could tell he didn't need a lotion, he needed the antibiotic to leave his system. I didn't apply it because the one time I did, it made it worse!

@noshinxoxo an alergy test can be a patch test.
