Hello all I have a question about cloth diaper laundering. I have charcoal bamboo 5 layer inserts and PUL cover cloth diapers with the snaps. Some diapers have a poo smell after washing. I'm about to buy a diaper sprayer to assist in the pre soak process. My pre dish has pine sol to disinfect. Then I do the fist wash colds, second hot and the third plain hot water. I use plant based detergents (Ecos and Sun) vinegar and baking soda to wash. Still I get a poo smell on some diapers. Any suggestions? #momlifechats

@lookatmenow85, add more laundry detergent and some add bleach as well (not everyone but some )

How do I get through to husband?

He doesn't want me to talk to anyone about our problems because that would make him look bad. I'm considering a marriage counselor and he says that's only for couples who are separating.

He's listening to me but he's not understanding me. My frustration comes from his lack thereof involvement in our first child. He's there yet he's mentally absent. MIL said, a week ago, both she and grandma are so surprised&proud at how much husband is trying.

@jellyoldfellow, oh that is so so hard. Would he be open to reading a book together instead of a therapist (at this point?). Sometimes that can be an easier "third party"?

No, he hates reading. He doesn't even want to read to M.

@jellyoldfellow, ooof, that's hard. I think if he's unwilling to do therapy, or read, and isn't changing you're in a tough spot. It sounds like he will listen, but doesn't seem to "get it"? I'd try reading "Non violent communication" the name sounds intense but the communication strategy is so helpful, and if he will listen it may help you clearly and lovingly communicate. My hearts with you, you're doing a LOT of emotional labor and work for your baby and you. Set strong boundaries for yourself (and work to have a network of friends for support), and continue to calmly communicate and model how present you are for your Kiddo. ❤️❤️#momlifechats

My son andrew isn't talking well but is in speech therapy and i don't think there really teaching him anything and his grandmother don't tell me alot about my son so what should i do ?

@jellyoldfellow, I was like your husband until I had a breakdown which we got through then it reared its ugly head beginning of this year... I was overwhelmed with two babies under two and one with sensory processing delay. My hubby worked and still works long hours and I finally hit a wall. I said if we don't get help part time for babies and time I can see a therapist I will just drop. It was once I was bare naked in the sense that I said I need this in order to take care of our children. After he saw my look and heard my true voice we got help. I'm sure he knows you are sincere but maybe one final plea?
