When did everyone turn their child forward facing. I'm hearing all different things

My daughter is a year and a half and I have no plans of moving her forward soon. I'm gonna try to make it until 2

I turned both my kids around to the forward facing positon close to 3 years old

In NJ the law is at least age 2, I forget the weight. I have no plans to switch him until he outgrows his rear facing seat, at 40lbs, though.

Pretty sure the new law is until 2 and 40lbs

It's best to allow them to outgrow either the weight or height limit of the seat before turning them forward. But you should also check your states laws on it because sometimes they have laws in place you must follow
