Do they face jail time? Or just something like community service, fines, probation, or maybe a week or two in jail. They should definitely face something, though.

I think everyone who is witness to someone potentially dying who doesn't do ANYTHING but record it should be faced with something. A similar story came out near where I live where people put up a video on Facebook live about some guy who wanted to jump off a parking garage. Im pretty sure no one even attempted to call 911. I think we've lost empathy for others. I have lot of theories on why this is happening but I'll save you from that. But I believe the teens deserve some sort of punishment. I'm fine with the idea of prison but I'm sure others wouldn't think that would be fair....even though it wasn't fair that there were able bodied teenagers who could have helped but instead they didn't.

I just watched the video. 1. the man apparently wanted to die. He went into water knowing he can't swim.

2. They should have at least called the police. But in that state, it's not a law to call for help. Until they changed it.

No excuses, but rather it's a law or not they should have for help.

That was bullshit! Even if the man wanted to die.. U get him the help he needs not encourage him to fkn die!!! There are a lot of peiple who have wanted to die but really only wanted to know someone cared

I don't think prison but definitely some type of punishment is needed because the kids thought it was funny. They need some mental help before they do something really bad. And the man didn't want to die. He had autism or something like it and went into the water and couldn't get back out because he didn't know how to swim.
