Anyone know what the difference is between the progesterone suppositories and the shots? I'm 24 weeks Friday.. Besides I pay 40.00 a month for the suppositories and 2,000.00 a month for the shot!!
I'm not keen on insurance etc. but see if your doctor can resubmit the application for the approval of the shot or even ask if there's anyway he can help you get it discounted. I'm sure he's dealt with patients that have had the same issue @blessedmommy01, seek the advice of your doctors office and see where it goes. I've also seen moms talk about the assistance program "makena care" or something like that I just didn't feel like making all those phone calls and stuff so I just yielded to paying the $40 a month.
@askale.facey, they told me it was 2,000.00 per month for me to get the shots and I don't qualify for financial assistance so that's what I would have to pay.. so idk if I should just keep doing the suppositories or the shots
I pay $40 a month for the shots and I used to pay $56 for the suppositories. I think the shots are a stronger form of the medicine designed for one to get one shot per week that does the job over the course of 7-10 days versus the suppositories which are a much weaker form and have to be administered vaginally everyday. That's what I've read. I'm currently on the makena just got my 3rd shot
