Has anyone got there kids tonsils removed? My 5 year old has over large tonsils & her pediatrician has recommended I get…

@adensmommy2014, @aubreynicolesmommy, is scared of them putting her to sleep 😢 but she's always had the problem of choking on her food and today was really bad I felt so helpless so you know if the medicaid covers it?

They recommended it for my son and I declined. They gave us alternatives and it worked when he was 2. I would do it now though.

@beebaby, really? What's the alternatives? Do they give her medicine for it?

I'm not sure because i.dont know your daughters situation personally. My son was 2 years old and I refused bevause he couldn t tell me his pain level or anything. They gave me a medication, one time dose. Can't remember the name but it shrank them down and he hasn't had issues since then. I plan on getting them taken out anyway though now but it gave me about 4 years.

@nessairieray, yeah I bet girl but then again that's a better thing for your little girl💖 I used to get sick all the time and had horrible fevers that I would start to hallucinate so my pediatrician decided it was the best decision and ever since I haven't gotten that sick.

I know people that had them removed and they seem fine they said they glad they have them removed ....

My daughter at 6 years old doctor wanted to remove it BC she had sleeping problems .I never agree to surgery . Like she used to sleep walk etc .. She is 9 now and seem to grow out of it and she doesn't sleep walk no more and sleeps well ..

My parents had mine removed/tubes in my ears when I was very little. I don't remember the actual procedure but I remember waking up from surgery and seeing my dad walking towards me.💜 They chose to have it done because I was getting horrible reoccurring ear infections/sick all the time. If your Dr recommends it it's probably a good idea.

@crystalhealing, my daughter used to snore in her sleep and now she can't breath through her nose she breathes through her mouth but she's always choked on food ever since she's been a baby

@nessairieray, poor baby! Choking is scary! I sure hope the surgery helps, if that's the route you choose.

@crystalhealing, it is so scary yes!! I cried I didn't know what to do I felt helpless I never want to see her like that again I'm just waiting for the referral to go threw so I can take her to the specialist
