Has anyone else been induced at 37 weeks due to gestational hypertension, how was your experience?

I had preeclampsia and I had to be induce

@whoa_itsz_steph I was tested for preeclampsia but it was negative. My blood pressure is constantly going up and down so she wanted to take me early. This is the earliest I have delivered, did your delivery go okay?

Everything went well for me.

@whoa_itsz_steph I go in on August 7th at 10 p.m. and ill be induced August 8th.

I was just induced on Saturday for gestational hypertension at exactly 37 weeks! I was a little anxious going in, so my BP spiked pretty high, I had to be put on magnesium and I'm allergic to the main BP med they use, so my options were far more limited than most... but overall it was really a good experience! 2 doses of Cytotec, got my cervix ripened and started my contractions (3-5 minutes apart)... but they were not getting close enough to get me to progress fast enough... so we opted for a little pitocin and I used some nitrous oxide to help take the edge off of the pitocin contractions, they are much stronger, and you have to be able to relax through your contractions to open your cervix... once I got to about 4cm 100% effaced, I lost my mucus plug, and they broke my water... things progressed quickly from there, I stopped using the nitrous once my body was in transition, because the mask made me angry! Lol so I delivered with no pain meds, it was maybe an hour or 2 of hard labor and about 5-6 good pushes to get her delivered! Given the circumstances I could not have asked for anything better! Be flexible going into it, expect that there will be set backs or complications, and just gather as much info as you can to make the best choices for you! Good luck momma!
