Anyone taken sertraline before? I wasnt going to take any kind of anti depressants/psychotics ever again however I think…

Can make you feel low at the start until they kick in then they work u have to get through the worse before they make u feel better they are pretty strong but that's like any anti depressants or anti psychotics xxx hope you feel yourself soon xx

I was on them before I was pregnant worked for a bit but then it stopped working. think it was because I was on them so long. I was taking 200mg a day but then my new doctor decided to mess around with it and stuff and then i found out I was pregnant so stopped taking them anyway xx

I was on it before pregnancy and I'm back on it again honestly can't say anything bad about it, I was on fluoxetine before I tried sertraline and it just made me so much more moody as I constantly felt sick and had constant migraines but sertraline seemed to work wonders xx

@holliesinead I'm not sure how they helped really I suppose they just made me feel less down and I had more of a "go" if you know what I mean. my oh said to me at the time that I was happier. but after a while I just felt like I was me again and crappy. sorry i can't help more I can't really remember x

I was on 200mgs of sertraline. Makes you drowsy, and dead monotone. You dont have any emotion apart from a flat line happiness. It gets annoying after a while xx

For me it made things seem a bit easier to cope with, like @courtney0503, said it gives you some sort of a 'go', it's difficult to explain and it's different for everyone xx

I don't take pills no more but feel I need them like today! My mum n dad both got mental health I had PND and psychosis after I had Erin I had all sorts of pills can't remember what worked n how but I got diagnosed with a form of bipolar a year or two ago now and anxiety. I stopped pills n stuff when I fell in love as that was enough to make me feel half normal again! I think the heart has alot to do with our minds! Give them a go if you feel you don't need to rely on pills then stop taking them. I actually had a pill that if u take more than one u get a rash well I took 3 and fuck me I won't do that again! I felt like they numbed me... I was on a very high dose. But felt like I wasn't me... Like I was watching myself from an outside point of view.

They can make you very emotionless which sometimes was what I needed I felt but they do alter the way you feel.. they sort of soften your emotions to things.

Plus you have to ween yourself off them as I suddenly stopped taking them and had horrible night sweats and headaches. Xx

@holliesinead, I've been on them, but too be honest I just felt a bit slow on them and felt like a zombie! It just made me feel tired! I only took them for a month or so and I just had to come off them, I should still be on them but I try and manage it on my own! Hope your okay beaut!xxx

It sounds normal just your body adjusting to it, it takes at least 2 weeks for the medication to have any affect xx

@holliesinead, I always felt tired and that I wanted to sleep on them, xx

Yeah insomnia can be a side effect give them a week or so and if your still restless try somthing else maybe.

They don't always suit everyone.

Looking at everyone's comments it seems to be a widely prescribed drug but I found them to be very strong... maybe because I was on such a high dose.

They also made me feel a little sick but that did ease after a few days.
