So I came home from work, and our cable box wasn't working. So I did the trouble shooting on the app, didn't work, so I called xfinity customer service.
The guy tried to do his stuff, couldn't, tried to get a tech out here, and I said NO. I'm not gonna pay almost $100 to have someone come out here and do essentially nothing. So I said no, and the guy then basically said it was MY fault the cable box was messed up and that I shouldn't be upset when I did it myself and am too embarrassed to say so.
Like...excuse me? I work in customer service, too, and if I were to blame a customer for an issue, I would lose my job. What the hell? I literally came home from work and it was messed up. It was NOTHING I did.
So, I'm like whatever, it's fine. I'll watch tv on the laptop. No big deal. Guess who shows up 20 minutes later? The tech I refused to have come out here. 🙄🙄🙄 I told him straight up that I said I didn't want anyone to come out, told him I wouldn't be paying for it, tipped him as a thank you since his time was wasted, and sent him on his way.
Waiting for the call with this survey lmao. They're gonna get a piece of my mind.

Why would you send the tech away ? If you can't get the box working and they can't on the tech side. It's most likely your box. Swapping it out would fix it. It's the internal system with in the box. You wouldn't get charged for it. I used to work at Comcast tech support for business and it's the same damn thing. You can also fake the box to the store and they will switch it

If the box doesn't work you can always take it a xfinity store and swap it it's free, when we has xfinity we had to do it a few times

@katiesmiles1 David wont let me have anyone come out for any reason. He refuses. Also, because we can't afford to have the tech come out at the moment. We're already a little strapped on money because we have to pay rent for this month, rent for the new apartment, application fees for the apartment, security deposits, alongside basic necessities and our regular bills and the fees to switch everything over to the new place. Plus, 9 times out of 10 they ask to go under the house, and we can't let them under the house per our landlord.
Also, last time a Comcast tech came over, they kicked my dog in the face (one of her teeth actually got knocked out), cut one of our HDMI cords in half (that was ours that we paid for), and forged David's signature. We got a pretty hefty compensation check for that incident.
We'll probably have to switch the box out though, because I did find out that the box they gave us is not the box that Comcast has us in in the system. 🙄🙄 And that's part of why we're having issues.

Comcast has been a bit shitty to us too. Like they keep charging us for random shit we don't even have or hadn't applied to. And shut off the cable even when we paid it, and never refunded any late fees because we were never late but apparently there system didn't receive payment?? Idk it's like a load of crap, definitely don't want to deal with cable when I've got my own place :b

@lp1988727 yep. They charge $80 to send a tech out, even if they just push a button and leave.

We go through spectrum and my boyfriend was going to upgrade us to the new bundle package but decided not to once the guy on the phone explained what it was. The tech said okay I'll cancel it. Well he didn't so the following day our internet was shut off because the new stuff was supposed to arrive even through we didn't want it. So we went through the whole process to correct the issue and will still need to pay for the upgrade that we didn't want. Have to pay an extra $5 a month for internet because the one we had is "no longer available" on top of the $170 for the upgrade which will be refunded to us. This all happened because my boyfriend mentioned he was a packer fan and the guy he was talking to wasn't.

Comcast is notorious for having the worst customer service there could possibly be. Luckily so far we haven't had any issues.
