Is there a way to know how colorblindness affect ypur baby? I know my son is colorblind (i am so all my sons will be) but i dont know if it is as bad as it was for my dad or little like me.. i read somewhere that for boys it is worst than for girls but i dont know if its true.

There really isnt a way until they get older and can understand colours a bit better and identify them

I don't think it's a forsure thing that it's automatically passed down is it? My cousin is colourblind and none of his children are.

It is in my case because i am a girl.. since ot is an anomaly in the x chromosone and both of mine have to be (thats why it is so rare to see colorblind women) so i automatically pass it down to my boys and my girls will have 1 chance out of 2 to pass it down to their boys

@smith0217 colorblindness comes from the mother's side always.. genetically talking men can only give the gene to their girls but they wont be because of the second x

Okay gotcha wasn't sure how it worked. Is it a for sure think that your son is colourblind as well or is it just a higher chance that he is because you are?

@smith0217 it is for sure. The optometrist told me that for a woman to be colorblind both of her x chromosone are abnormal and wil automatically give one down.. and since boys only have one there is no way around it lol.
