So I took Ethan to his first dentist appt and he has cavities. They said it was due to him going to sleep right after drinking milk from both breastfeeding and bottle. Now he has to get them fixed and they will be using laughing gas to calm him down since he doesn't let himself. Has anyone had their child be given laughing gas at such an early age? My son is only 18 months. They said it was completely save but I'm so worried right now. He is scheduled to go in on the 28th and I'm terrified and feel like the worst mother 😢

My son had the same problem but he was like 4 everything was OK he was just out of it afterwards praying that everything goes well for you @ethansmommy12292015

Since they're just his baby teeth can they just scrape out the cavity? And not put a filling? I personally don't think babies should have fillings and in other countries they refuse to put fillings on baby teeth. As long as it's scraped out the cavity won't spread.

Was it just his first checkup or did you notice his teeth bothering him which made you take him in?
I'm asking because my son occasionally drinks milk before bed too or in the middle of the night and our dentist won't see him until he's 2.

I think they were pretty bad since he was so surprised that he was so small and already with so many cavities@eryka616 they just told me they need to be taken care of as soon as possible before they get to the nerve.

I noticed that his four top front teeth were getting brown spots on them and were getting worse. So I decided to schedule him an appointment and that's what they told me @orionsmomma

Wipe her teeth with a damp cloth to remove any milk that might have stayed on her teeth so she doesn't go to sleep with it. Watch out for brown spots. @eryka616
