I'm thinking on investing in a fetal Doppler as I keep getting really bad pains but I keep going to the doctors and them telling me it's normal but something doesn't feel right it might just be my anxiety but either way having a Doppler would be nice for me to show my family and my partners family the heartbeat please let me know if any of you ladies have had experience with fetal dopplers ❤️

I've got one found heartbeat at 11 weeks only use it once a week if that now I can feel baby but it's nice to reassure you early in the pregnancy x

@jodiec, is it any good ? X

@missashleyanne, I have but they tell me not to worry so I just want to be able to listen to the heartbeat every so often I know it's a hit and miss I have watched far to many Doppler videos on YouTube to freak out if I don't hear the beat lol x

I bought one from Amazon (£20) and it's great. Has two headphone sockets which is useful. You wouldn't be able to use it until you are further on though x

@gabilicious, I'm not using it as a medical reassurance I have gone to my midwife and my doctors many times in the past few weeks and they have told me everything is fine and normal but me being 17 with extreme anxiety and my mother and sister having miscarriages in the past I'd like to just be able to reassure my anxiety deep down I know it's all ok but there's a small voice that keeps telling me otherwise I just want to put that voice at ease

I see what you mean, just please if you're ever concern or once you start feeling baby move and movements change or slow down you get checked straight away, these home Dopplers are vet dangerous as women ain't trained to use them and a lot of the time pick up their own heartbeat, look up kicks count on Facebook they got a lot of information on baby movement etc xx
Sophie Mcneil·
@gabilicious, yeah I have been researching as much as possible before thinking of a home Doppler but if I can get one and learn to use it right it will be nice to show family the heartbeat x

Also the placenta has got a beat as well so you need to be careful with that too, either way it's your choice xx

I had cramps throughout pregnancy hun :) its pretty common...and the majority of women experience pains...its the ligaments and uterus stretching and getting bigger for the baby :) The baby is still under the pubic bone at this stage so doubt youd find the heart beat as baby is very small :) Even if you do hear a heart beat...it doesnt tell you that the baby is ok...midwives are trained in the abnormalities of the heart etc...It deffo shouldnt be used as a reassurance thing. If something is wrong with baby...the heart would be the last thing... if there was something wrong at this stage...theres not much that can be done xx

I had one but couldn't find the heartbeat which scared me so much so it can also cause even more worry! Xx

Thank you everyone for the comments but the main reason I want to get a home Doppler is more so my family can hear the heartbeat as I have a very big family and only a few lucky ones will get to come to my 12 week scan there is no way I'm using it as 100% reassurance but the midwife told me that instead of me coming to her and going doctors over every single pain or worry it may help ease my brain
