My bf is threatening to take me to court because I don't feel safe living with him when baby boy is born. This isn't the first time he's threatened to do this if I didn't do what he wanted. I just need advice on what steps I need to take to secure safety for my child. Please private message me if you have any advice or know anyone who's been through anything similar. I'm trying not to stress but who wouldn't when someone threatens to take your child and they don't live in the healthiest environment as it is.

My advice dont allow at birth or to sign birth certficate. He sounds dangerously controlling and thinks you lack intelligence. He has no rights unless you give them to him. I woukd also file a protective order. Prayers for you and your childs safety.

@danielledew94 thank you! Does it matter if the child has his last name? He isn't going to be a junior but the name I picked 2 days ago was with his last name. Someone recently told me he'd get custody because of me giving our baby his last name

The child hasnt been born yet right? He has to sign the birth certificate for the child to get his last name. And yes that would give him legal rights. Your child will have to take your last name and you will have to say you dont know who the father was or that he is not involved in your life.

I would also advice to have your self renoved from hospital list when you are delivering your child and to make sure noone who knows him know when and where you are delivering.

@danielledew94 we have texts with me saying its our child and the full name. No I'm not due until October I have to change hospitals this week because i was supposed to be going back to his house for our upcoming prenatal visit.

Youre not obligated to put or name the baby with his is last name on the certificate if you're not married. @shanelm312

@inlovewithrosiee yeah we aren't married. I just didn't want to use my last name. The name we chose went perfectly together but if I have to I definitely will use my own.
