So...I'm looking at getting a first time home buyers loan and purchasing a house. We need a bigger house that doesn't have mold everywhere or floors that are caving in, and we need a larger home for all my siblings and pets. We found the perfect one... $71,900 for it. If we do basic rent charge at $500/month to pay it off, it'd take us 12 years to pay it off...before interest. And that's IF they go with basic rent charge for an amount. They might go higher. I have a good paying job right now ($12/hour with any OT I want [averaging 20 hours OT]), so I'm feeling confident about it. But who knows. Monday we go see if we qualify for the loan. If we do, then I will officially be able to tell my daughter we made it :) Have any of you purchased a house on a single income while raising a child? If so, how'd it go smoother? Any advice?
