If the father of your child moves away with his girlfriend, and hasn't seen his child in 1 or 2 years doesn't text or call to check up on his baby but visits frequently. And doesn't even try to make an effort to see his baby. Would you ask him to sign his rights over? Asking for a friend.

Why would she want him to sign the rights over? Does she have a significant other that wants to adopt the child? If so, yes I would consider asking him to sign over the rights. If not, I don't know what benefit she would get... especially seeing that he basically "unofficially" signed them over. I just don't know how vindictive this guy is... like if she asks, will he be an ass and then purposely try to come around just to spite her? Good luck mama! That's a tough situation

@purpledpink, yea, she does he's been there since the baby was born her baby boy is 5 and basically her boyfriend is all he knows. Her boyfriend was even at the birth of the babies but his own father couldn't show up because he said he didn't want to make his gf mad

@kaycee10, then yes, I would ask. That's tough, hopefully the sperm donor doesn't put up a fight, and can respect that their is a man who wants to take care of the kiddos! That makes my heart so happy! What an amazing man! Hope it works out mama!

Yes doesn't hurt to ask least he could say is no.. why have him as the father is he doesn't care for his child only reason the person wouldn't ask is if they r getting child support and they need it that's the only reason..

@jennrudy2016, omg yes that's what I was telling her!!! The least he can say is no but I highly doubt he would cause he said it out his own mouth that he was thinking about giving his rights up.

@kaycee10, if he said it then maybe he does want to do it.. my bf waned to give up his right for other reasons and the mom had said once she was gng to let him and then she didn't and whycause she needs the money to much cause she doesn't work and has three kids and just lives off child support and her bfs moms house lol
