Well. I was super excited because my almost 4 month old was only waking twice throughout the night. She is now up hourly and a total mess. She is able to put herself to sleep and does so when I first put her in the crib for the night. She wakes up after 45 mins crying. I give her her paci and then she's out for another hour. Maybe 2. Does anyone have any suggestions?? Anything? She is currently in a crib in our room. I'm thinking about moving her crib but I'm worried about doing that.

I heard from another mom that trying to minimize the pacifier at night might help?
Sleep schedules get thrown out of wack all the time. It's such a nightmare so I know you're pain! In my opinion it might be just a phase in her development.. should settle down soon ☺️

@dazzlingmommy, that gives me hope!

@mamatojessegrace, Yes! I use the app The Wonder Weeks. It helps me keep track of his developmental leaps and when his fussy stages should begin and end etc. It's a great app and gives lots of useful info about your baby ☺️

You've hit the 4 month sleep regression stage. My son has slept through the night in his crib since he was a month old. During his 4th month, he would wake up like your daughter is. I used a swaddleme wrapsack which helped but it is something you just have to work through. It does end. My son did it for 2 weeks or so and was back sleeping all night.

@mpeterson62530, really?! People say it happens for months and it gives me the worst anxiety. I'm going to give her a few weeks. But at 5 months I'm gonna have to sleep train if she's still doing this :(

@mamatojessegrace, Yea I hear you! Just fight through it, I promise it will be over soon.
As for sleep training, I started when my son was around 4 months to help him with naps (he NEVER napped). I read the book "Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Baby/Child." Great book! They don't necessarily practice the cry it out method- they go about it in a different way that will minimize the crying. I never fully practiced the cry it out method- I absolutely hate when people let their babies scream forever then fall asleep from their nervous system shutting down and that makes them believe it works. No. There's a certain way to go about it which doesn't involve letting your baby cry for an hour.
But sleep training worked well for us and in no time we were at the point where I put my son in his crib and he falls asleep by himself ☺️

@dazzlingmommy, is gonna buy that! Everyone tells me this age is too young to sleep train. It's nice to hear a success story. Did his personality change at all? J still hold my baby for her naps so I have to start getting her to nap in her crib too

@mamatojessegrace, I believe newborns are too young to sleep train but 4 months + is a good age to start sleep training. But don't expect results overnight. These things take tons of patients and time, but it's definitely worth it. No I don't think his personality changed, that I notice. He's still a happy baby that's for sure ☺️. Although he wasn't very happy when he was a newborn being that he was very colic and had reflux 💔
