My mom is going to stay with us before and after I have the baby.. Thing is she wants to bring her dog. A big black lab. Its a therapy dog.. I dont really want the dog in my one bedroom apartment. I've tried telling her to leave him home but she will not listen to me. My mom is not a trustworthy person I dont want her alone in my apartment. We are on the third floor and only have stairs to get up and down. She claims to have all these health problems blah blah. She says she will camp but its not like she can just leave the dog at the camp all day. I need advice. What should I do..

I'm a little confused. So your mom is going to stay with you in your apartment before and after right? And she's not trustworthy? Also, what does she mean by "camp"? Like she will stay somewhere else? I don't know that's a tough decision. I totally agree that you don't want a dog in an already small place when you have a new baby and are getting used to that. It will already be cramped if she is staying with y'all in the apartment too. Sorry mama!

As a pet owner....if my dog can't come with me when i need to be away...i don't go. So if you want her help, accept the dog for a little while.

@purpledpink she will literally camp in a tent 40 minutes away. She isn't trustworthy and wasnt ever a good mother. But I wanted to involve her. The closer I get to having her here Im afraid she will end up trying to stay. Or make me take care of her dog. I dont want her in the apartment alone. She called me selfish for wanting her to leave her dog at home.

@newmommyathenia, yikes! I'm so sorry, and I think your totally right, she probably will try to have you take care of the dog, bc your right, she can't just leave it in a tent...and selfish! Ha!!!! Your not, just bc you don't want someone else's dog there doesn't make you selfish... even if you were, this is your child, your allowed to be selfish! Sorry mama!

Tell her your apts won't allow the dog. Once your settled at home maybe you can work something out. 🤷🏽♀️

@brownsugarluv people all around here have their dogs. I just don't want her to have it here. I guess Im just going to deal with it. I don't want her to camp outside for over a week. I feel like crap because she has actually come through for me for once to help me with this baby and I feel like a bad person for being so bitchy because she wants her dog here.
