Sorry for the vent....so I had my second son five days ago via repeat c-section. My mom stayed with me this week to help out and my 18 month old loves her of course. Well my 18 month basically haven't been wanting me or my husband like that this week he rather go to my mom than us, when he cries he run straight to her. He knows our second son is a baby but don't understand the concept of course. So my 18 month has been whining a lot more lately, don't like for us to tell him no, and we have to keep an eye on him around the baby. My husband and I been taking turns with each boy. Since I had the c-section my recovery is a lil slower so I couldn't hold my oldest until yesterday and I still can only hold him sitting down, I can't play or run behind him like I want to. I don't want my 18 month old to feel like he's not getting enough attention or love. I just feel bad that I can't play with him like I want to. I'm breastfeeding so I have the newborn a lot nursing. On top of everything I can't sleep at night due to the recovery and it's been hard getting my 18 month old to stay in his bed at night and getting the newborn to stay in the bassinet. I just need some advice if anyone don't mind, I'm open to suggestions. I know eventually everything will get better but I didn't expect to be crying so much lately.

I know the feeling! It gets better hun, give him a few weeks. I told you Silas wouldn't let me touch him for 3 weeks. Just try to get your 18 month old to help do things for the baby don't force it just ask and if he declines leave him be. I'm sure he'll love him and try to help sooner or later as for bed time I don't have much advice cause I was still co-sleeping with Silas for 8 months after Justice was born. But what I currently do is get them both asleep and transfer them in their beds then if they wake up and come in our bed put them back to sleep and put them back again sometimes I just co sleep with Justice or him and Silas cause it gets exhausting with the back and forth but it does get better hang in there. 😘

@skyy12221, thank you so much! Right now my oldest will give the newborn kisses but he's still rough with him since he don't understand the concept so we keep a close eye on him and I'm scared to cosleep with my newborn and oldest due to my oldest sleep kind of wild

You're welcome and that's to be expected. Silas is still rough with Justice sometimes. And yeah I used to have to watch Silas he'd put his arm on Justice face or something lol or his head but its gotten better now plus Silas sleeps in his room so it helps

@skyy12221, yes we are in the transitioning stage for my oldest so we let him fall asleep in our bed then my husband put him in his room in his bed until he get used to it and if he do wake up in the middle of the night we just let him stay in our bed

@sherrynygirl, I'm definitely sleep deprived because I can't even lay on my sides or back from my incision but once I recover from surgery ill be able to do more things with him
