When is it time to stop your child from sucking tbeir thumb my daughter is 17 months old

I say asap its a bad habit, i sucked my thumb till i was 13. I had to wear braces for 5 years, my mouth was so messed up

5 months ago if not more. They shouldn't suck there thumb once teeth are coming in. It will make her adult teeth crooked
