I would avoid doing the hair until you are in the second trimester. Though I did mine in the second trimester and still got really sick because the smell and heat.

Nails are fine in a well ventilated area, but hair should be done after the 1st trimester. Also, due to pregnancy hormones, just know the color may not turn out how you're wanting it!
