Anyone know of a website or something for free legal advice? My man is getting sued over a car he doesn't even have. He had it for about a year and out of that time he actually had it maybe 3 months because it was in the shop because it was such a lemon, but it was a used car so lemon law doesn't apply. He called them to come take it and they waited until he didn't pay to repo the car. Now they are trying to say he owes them $10k-$15k (he has been told both) and now they are saying if he doesn't pay that he will have his license suspended, which with 2 kids and a woman that doesn't drive that just can't happen. Do they even have the power to do that?

I don't think a car lot can suspend his license. However, if they sue him and win they can garnish his wages.

If I were him I'd tell them he no longer wishes to be contacted by phone and everything should be done by mail.

@dmm1976 He has been given til Monday to come up with a grand or they are taking him to court. And we just dont have a grand. That is an entire paycheck and some.
