Is it normal for a 9yr old to bring you something she built acting like it's a huge deal, and it only be 4 Legos stacked together??? I know boys and girls develope at different speeds and all that. But my son, 7, brings me huge elaborate things he's built. The only other girl I have as a comparison is my 2yr old so I'm not sure if this is normal.

@tiredmom yeah if she's just craving your attention, maybe just go play with her and build blocks with her.

@danielswifey some back story might be helpful, I'm used to smilemom where most of the ladies no me and the issues we've been having with my SD.
She's allegedly "slow". She never officially passed kindergarten, she was just moved up due to her age. She has other behaviour problems, when she's with her mom she's very violent. She lies constantly. Her mom gave us custody because she couldn't handle her anymore.
Since she's been with us, I taught her how to read in a week, she can count and she knows her letters. All in a week. So I don't believe she's slow.
The reason I'm asking if only being able to stack blocks is normal is because she has a drs appointment next week to get evaluated to find out what's really going on. I just want to know if this falls under the "weird crap that all kids do" category, or something that should be addressed.

@tiredmom well she seems smart to me if she learned to read that fast and i honestly don't think you have anything to worry about.

@danielswifey that's what I thought. I'm more concerned with the behaviour (lying, violence, and manipulation) I'm just trying to weed through the weirdness to make sure I have a relavent list.
