It's your choice. My doctors told me it doesn't really do anything anyway but I could get it done if it made me feel better. They also told me that getting checked for dilation by one of the male doctors in the office was like getting a sweep done anyway because their hands are so big🙈

I believe it's your choice to get it done and it's usually to see it if it'll jump start labor
