At what age do you talk to your kids about changing bodies or their body in general? i spent the first years of my childhood in foster homes then my adoptive parents never talked to me about those things. I pretty mucg learned on my own everything from make up to bodies. Soo im just curious. I dont want my kids going clueless.

Personally I start as a baby even before they can talk and I'll continue as they get older, I also don't use nicknames for body parts like penis (and vagina I have no girls lol)

My step daughter started asking questions about periods, so I explained periods and sex at the same time since one really leads to the other. Using proper names for body parts of course, there is no tip toeing around with my kids. Theres really no "right time" to have those talks, it all depends on the maturity of the child. But no matter what age, if they start asking questions its definitely time.

@jordanmartin1732 my son hasnt asked questionsyt. He'll be 9 in november. I read somewhere that even if they dont bring up anything, then its our job to do so and sometimes its best to talk about things before puburty even begins. and sometimes kids want to know stuff at ab early age. Mson has showed no interest so ill probably the one who has to bring it up. Dont want to too late or too soon

I think youre just worrying yourself to much hun. There is no right or wrong time to have that talk. 9 is a great age because he'll be going into puberty soon. I spoke with my step daughter when she was 8-9. There are plenty of childrens books that you can buy with pictures and explanations if thatll help make it easier for you explain things 😊

@nicolem10021 just follow your gut to educate them it'll be fine and since your son isn't currently asking questions I'm pretty sure once you start talking he'll start asking. Just build a bond to where he's comfortable asking and talking about it with you instead of him being afraid to come to you and finding out after he's already gotten into something or "learns" it from someone else.
