There's more then just assisted housing you can get a bachelor a basement if you have a job plus baby bonus you can make do if you are in school you can get money from the government they pay your rent and give you basic needs
You don't need a 2 bedroom for you and baby that's something you may want but you don't need you can share a room. I was a young mom with my first born. I made it work she's turning 10 this week and after many struggles we now have a home and a family
You're actually in the perfect city for your situation. I just left there and am unfortunately in a more expensive place. Edmonton is swarming with jobs my son and I currently have one bedroom that we are sharing he's a newborn. You only need a one bedroom for the time being till baby is about two years old.
@ib.crazyskittles18 Have you looked into low income housing yet? That should be affordable and you should definitely be eligible. It seems like reaching out to the available resources should resolve a lot of the stress you have.

One bedroom is easy with a newborn. I have a newborn & a one bedroom. We room share. She's fine that way till she's at least 3 if need be!
You'll do just fine. Yes there's lots to do before applying so do it. You can only make it better if you want too.
