Should I be expecting for my husband's sisters to all take off of work the day of my c section?? We're your in-laws there for the surgery or did they just visit later??

We told everyone we wanted it to just be my husband and I for mine and that we would txt/call family when we were ready for visitors. Our son was born at 820a and we decided around noon to let everyone know we would be ready for visitors around 2p

@ashley_erin perfect idea. I can't handle another crowd for this c section. It was hectic when I had my daughter. Definitely took away from us

My MIL took off the day to come to the hospital.

@tasharoshell, remember it's all about you. Some of our family doesn't get along with each other and we were really worried about someone creating drama and taking away from why they were actually there but shockingly everyone was on their best behavior! They weren't happy when we said we didn't want anyone there waiting but it was our choice and the nurses were really great. They asked us if we had anyone we didn't want let in before I even had my c section and we told them we will let the nursing staff know when we are ready for visitors just incase anyone tried to come before we were ready. It's the best decision and both my husband and I were glad we did it they way that we did. All about you mama and your family. Best of luck!!! :)

@ashley_erin yea I wish. Unfortunately my husband cares more about what his older sisters say rather than my wishes. So I mentioned it to him and he said he doesn't agree. That's not how he envisioned it. So basically that means he's not going to enforce it. And his family will be there early in the morning with all the petty they can muster for my family.

@kimny my MIL doesn't work so I expected she might be there. It's his 5 sisters who I'd rather wait until I'm ready to deal with them

@tasharoshell in hindsight I now realize the less people the first day the better.

@kimny me too. I've done with before. My daughter is 9. This is his first so he's so stuck on everyone being there "supporting us"

Nothing feels worse than not mattering.

@tasharoshell I can understand where he's coming from too. I guess the second time around it's like meh lol

@kimny I can understand that too. I guess knowing that they don't really care for me makes me very less enthused to be around them. For any occasion. And I know from experience that if they can act a fool at the wedding, they will act a fool at the hospital too and he won't say anything. Trying to avoid that.

@tasharoshell oh no you definitely don't need anybody acting a fool at the hospital. I'd let him know at the first sign of any tomfoolery everyone has to go because you and baby need your rest. I would still try and see if there's any way you can delay visits till the 2nd post partum day.

@kimny I wish. There wouldn't be anyway of doing that without him knowing. I just wish it were different. Wish I didn't have to even worry about this. But hey, this is the hand I was dealt so I better figure it out.

@tasharoshell You'll Get through It. And your new bundle of joy will make it all better I'm sure.
