My husband's family always talks about how there hasn't been a girl born in their family for over 100 years... I have always wanted a boy first, but they've made me want to prove that I'm not *just* one of them. It makes me feel like I have no effect. I can't really explain it. But i feel like I won't be able to be happy if we're having a boy. And I'm mad that they took that away from me.

That will change in time i desperately wanted a girl and thought i would be sad if i didnt but when i did find out I was having a boy i broke out in tears of joy

Just remind them it's their boy that determines sex not your egg or ovary or womb

Beth they know that. It just makes me feel like I'm nothing. Just a means to an end. I know it sounds weird but they made my SIL feel the same way. I've read tons of articles and it's basically impossible for a man-or a family-to only be able to produce one or the other.

Crossing my fingers for you it's a girl! 😄 I'm sure you will still be happy with a boy, but I get you with the in-laws that somehow take the credit for everything. It's annoying. Like, sorry, no they got stuff from me and my family too. 🙄

Exactly!! My SIL has super curly hair, but husband's dad still tries to say he gets his curly hair from the dad... because he had curly hair as a baby.

Same boat only opposite! My hubbys family does not have any boys yet. So I have all the pressure on me to have a boy. But I feel like if I have a girl, I can't be happy.
I just want healthy. I do want a boy myself but I'm so nervous about finding out what we're having!
