We live in a quiet little community, I swear I just heard 6 gun shots not far from our apartment! 4 in a row, followed a few seconds later by 2 more... woke my husband up started looking out the window and saw 3 guys walking near the outdoor pool... I have no idea if it for sure was gun fire... or if I should call the police or not! 😳 my husband was too groggy to know for sure if it was gun fire but he said it certainly could have been! 😓 so do I call non-emergency? Or what? My husband is not awake enough to be helpful right now! 🤦♀️

If its scaring you that much then call the police. Make sure everything in your house is locked up. You probably do it every night anyways. But I would double check.

@gabriellerose, I called the 'urgent but non-emergency' police number and reported what we heard and saw... it's strange because following the shots, I would have expected to hear a commotion or some sort of vehicle driving off... but all we saw was 3 people taking a walk! So they may have had nothing to do with it... but if nothing else, maybe they would have known better where the sounds came from!

@juliaschade41, yeah... all I heard were the shots, nothing else, everything seemed to be as quiet as always! My husband and I were talking about it... We are tucked in a little valley not far from a main road... there is a housing community next to us, and another not so nice set of apartments on the other side of the housing community... so it could have been over in one of those places, and the sound just traveled... we lived in another place last year, and there was shots fired between 2 cars (they were not residents) and I was not sure what I heard, but walked out to my balcony to see a car speed off down the street... it was crazy, there were well over 100 apartments where it happened and only 1 person reported it! I emailed the office to say I heard something like gun shots, and saw a speeding car go by... but that was all. So this time I wanted to make sure that I called something in!
