I've been meaning to ask this for months but honestly it always slips my mind. For those of you who have puppies/dogs how did they react to you being pregnant, before I was showing my dog would always step on my belly when I was laying down (she's clumsy, she always has) and it would worry me to death, now sometimes she does on accident and lays on my belly a lot. I'm not huge yet but I'm sure she can tell there's something going on in there. She always lays her head on my stomach when we sleep. I always believed dogs were extremely smart. She is a black lab/German shepherd mix. And she will be 1 at the end of November. And I'm due beginning of dec. so I guess it's pretty cool her and the baby will be a year apart. Hopefully they will love each other. I'll post a pic of her in the comments. Sorry for the long message, just wondering did it scare y'all when your dog or pup did this or did they ever step on your stomach? And are they protective over you more than ever? Mine is! If my fiancé got close to my stomach she would nudge him away, not bite or anything just move his hand with her head basically saying this little human is mine back off 😂❤️

Completely misread that. 😅 out of the seven dogs, they were all pretty aware of it. (They say they can sense it) there were only two that would still try to jump on me. Both my boyfriends family's dogs. One was a little wiener dog and another was a hyper active chocolate lab. My boyfriends chocolate lab was very protective even when I was pregnant and he would be by my side at all points in time. Especially near the end of my pregnancy. You just gotta be careful if you aren't sure how they'd react.

@skylarsmama4417, what did you think it said? 😂😂 lol and I think she will be okay, I just didn't know about her stepping on my belly, if that could harm my baby or not? I mean I know he's in there protected by a lot of things but I guess I just worry.

Since she's a bigger dog, it might hurt the baby but I'm not entirely sure. And I thought you were asking how the dogs reacted after we brought home the baby from the hospital. 😂

@skylarsmama4417, well that too! I feel like mine will sniff him and lick and then lay by his sid all the time

@emileewells1153, lol. That's pretty much what mine did! We were in the bedroom the first day and we shut the door, just in case. The chocolate lab stayed outside, wouldn't move for anything and just stared.

Shes adorable! Animals do sense pregnancy! As far as hurting baby, dont worry, very unlikely 😊 The uterus is astoundingly resilient, her just stepping on you wouldn't exactly be enough to harm baby. Just be aware of her clumsiness and work with her on not stepping on mommy 😊 Shes sooo cute! (Sorry, Ive worked with dogs 10+years, training, showing, and im a dog groomer lol)
