So I got an IUD back at the beginning of November after having my daughter late in August. The doctor said I didn't need one as long as I was still breastfeeding but I wanted to be safe rather than sorry. I bled for over two months straight and was still having very heavy periods that last over a week long! I had gone back and they checked the IUD was still in place in January and it has been a waiting game to see when my periods would lighten or go away...(websites said it could take up to six months) I finally gave up and just had it taken out last week and when I went to my OB she said it wasn't in place anymore! Ugh! So I could of got pregnant anyways! So annoying! Oh well, going all natural now and if I get preggers it's meant to be!

@typicalwifegirl, that's a bummer cuz they make it seem like the norm is to not have a period anymore

That's crazy. Yeah not a fan. Have you seen the picture of the baby born holding the IUD? It's insane! @missdkp23,

I had to have a procedure to get mine removed bc it was no longer in place and the strings were to short to reach. My cycles were so long and I never had that issue. Now when I had my IUD after I had my first child on 07, I didn't have a cycle for 6 years. I definitely don't thing the iuds are the same anymore.

I've been on an IUD for over a year now and my periods are 10-14 days long on average 😮 It's tolerable though cause it's still better than what I used to have 😂
Sometimes your bleeding doesn't stop or slow down at all. My doctor said that actually happens more often, and the light to non existent periods are more often wishful thinking than reality.
