Okay I need some advise. Im 17, engaged to my fiance who is 21 ( age is not a problem to us or our family, so shouldn't be a problem to anyone on here ) he's currently in the military so really good insurance. We have decided to get married before our baby gets here ( which is September ) we originally planned on getting married when Elliots about 2 so he can be in the wedding, but now we're just going to go to the court house for now, then have a wedding long in the future. He talked to his insurance people at the armory and they said if we were married, having a kid would basically be free. (Doctor bills, college, etc) both of our parents are supportive of this! They say we can do what we think is best. What do you guys think? & P.S. WE ARE NOT getting married right now JUST because of our baby coming. We've been planning our wedding since before I was pregnant. We are both actually super excited to be married this soon. We just think it would be a lot better for our baby if he was covered under good insurance as soon as he's born so we know he is well taken care of when it comes to doctor visits.

My husband and I got married when he got he duty station we had a cheap wedding it cost like 500 the only family I had there was my mom since it was out of the state. We are do a ten year renewal vows next year for family. The insurance is good which is great with the baby coming. He would also get extra on his paychecks for the baby and being married to you.Also look into Indiana benefits for children of veterans on there website. My son gets 134 free credit hours for college as long as your a resident of Indiana for 36 months.

@ballarinagirl87 that is awesome!! I didn't know that about the college credit hours! There's so many good benefits for our baby it just stresses me out at the thought of getting married at 17. Even though I know we will make it. We have such a wonderful relationship. I would never marry someone I didn't think I would last with. Just a huge step to take as well as having our baby.

Not a problem it was very easy to make friends on base with the other wives a very family friendly community I'm sure you'll do great

I think you just answered your own question. If this was planned before the pregnancy and benefits the baby many times over, you guys love each other and have support from your parents then go for it!
