@brbsmomma the cold pressed oil preserves the nutrients (benefits) of using the oil. Any amount of heat the oil is exposed to removes the nutrients, and cold pressed is nearly as raw as you can get. Another plus is the smell and taste of the oil the more heat it is exposed to the stronger the smell and taste is. Raw coconut oil doesn't have the smell we associate with coconut.
@andrea.herrington, what is the difference between cold pressed and regular coconut oil? I have a bunch of regular coconut oil around the house that I use for baby lotion, diaper rash, etc
You can actually start right away with brushing their gums. Using one of those soft finger tip tooth brushes. I prefer to use organic cold pressed coconut oil. Baby's don't need toothpaste at this age, especially with all the additives and chemicals. Coconut oil is best, it is a natural antifungal and and antibiotic. It keeps away thrush and keeps baby's mouth clean. Until they can brush on their own and know how to spit out their tooth paste this is all I use.
@lovelily, @arivera64, ok thanks ladies! I've been wiping out her mouth with a burp cloth after feeds and she uses her starter tooth brush as a teething toy pretty much daily, just wasn't sure when to start to get down to business with that!

As soon as they have teeth.
Use training toothpaste found in the regular toothpaste aisle
If ur gonna use a paste use toms organic cuz there's no flouride. Flouride makes people docile and they will get enough of it in tap water.
