My son is 5 months old and is staying to roll onto his stomach what are some things you guys did with him sleeping in his crib at night and rolling and putting his face on the mattress(he does NOT sleep on his tummy) granted he's slept in his crib since he was a week old but now he's moving more and I've taken the boppy pillow away... thanks!
@cubanese, that's true I guess it just always scares FTMs when they start doing that
@sarahmartinez817, yes I agree about the pillows and cushions my son only has a blanket cover him to below his boobs and his hand are over top of it and his binky on the other side of the crib. I guess it just always scares FTMs when they start doing that lol
So, this is from my pediatrician and you might get different advice from yours so do what seems right for you, but when I asked this question she said that once a baby can roll well enough to change their own position it's safe to let them sleep however they position themselves. You should always but them down on their back, but if they roll you don't need to move them back. She also mentioned that putting extra pillows or cushions to prevent them from rolling was more likely to present a danger than them rolling would. Hope that helps!
@cubanese, @cubanese, makes sense but he's never really slept on his stomach or anything yet he just started making it onto his stomach today actually but his one arm he can't figure out how to get it out form underneath him so I was showing him today but like with him sleeping he rolled onto his right side and had his face in the mattress for a minute or so but then I came back up and he was just on his side should I not worry?
@cubanese, oh lol well thanks for talking to me! I'm not as worried tonight
