Make sure you have them drinking or sucking on something during take offs and landings to help with their ears. My son flew in my lap and I brought my nursing pillow and nursed him during those times. Also, nursing pillow helped to give him a comfy place to sleep. If you have a carrier I would suggest baby wearing for around the airport. Also, don't bring a super nice stroller bc they just throw it under the plane. A family friend of mine flies commercial planes and he told me to get a crappy stroller for the airport. A lot of the time you can board first bc they will ask for people with family boarding. This helps you get settled easier.

We flew from the east coast to Hawaii. I also got my son a special toy for the plane.

Oh and don't forget you will need a carseat at your destination. Hawaii had a great rental service that we used. If you are going to bring yours just remember they are going to throw it underneath with the luggage. My friend who flies commercial said renting was probably a better option.

I'm not sure how old your baby is but make sure you have snacks. They are going to search your bag though bc people try to sneak stuff in baby bags. My son was 14 months old when we flew.
