My 8 month old is starting to pick up on her older sister's bratiness and I don't know what to do. Her older sister does not listen to me whatsoever and I'm undermined by my boyfriend's mom with whatever I try to do so anytime I try to make her like clean her room or do something she doesn't want to she throws a fit and screams and cries. I won't take that from my own child but it's not like at 8 months I can pop her ass because she's just doing what she sees (I'm a firm believer in whippings, if you're not I don't care). I have them both during the day by myself for most of the day 4 days a week and I'm about at my breaking point. I can't even go outside during the day because I can't carry my daughter and literally run after a 4 year old.

Her dad needs to back you up with his kid. And as far as her not wanting to clean, I through my kids stuff away or donate it. If they can't take care of it they don't deserve it.

@tiredmom I actually just threw away some poms poms because she keep pulling them apart and when I told her to throw away the pieces she tore off she tried to hide them. She's possibly autistic but only way she's really behind I've seen is potty training and not talking but everyone babies her because of it. Boyfriend backs me up but they undermine him as well.

@ravens_mommy we had that issue with my 8yr old stepdaughter. We have custody of her now so it's gotten better.

@tiredmom Since it's summer we have his kid nearly all the time but we currently live at his mom's. When her and her husband goes on trips the child acts way better but when they are around neither of us can do much with her.

@ravens_mommy yep. Anytime my SD finds out she's going to her mom's house she turns into a raging sociopath. This child literally tries to hurt everyone and lies to get the other 2 in trouble. But when she's with us, she's happy and well adjusted.
