Little Olivia pulled out her feeding tube, yet again. (There was a day she did it 3 times!) Decided to get some cute photos without it. It looks like the time to go home and not be in the NICU anymore is coming closer. They have an option to "room in" for a night to take care of her as if we were at home, but not be far away from the nurses. We'll be doing that Monday night. We have a feeling we don't need to do it, but since we can, we're going to take advantage of it.
She's also gained almost a whole pound since her birth, she's now at 4 lbs 7 oz. (Birth weight was 3 lbs 9 oz)
With all this good news my husband has decided to start taking his parental leave starting Tuesday.
We originally weren't ready to be parents until July 3rd. She decided that 7 weeks early was better. I still feel under prepared, but the nurses tell us we are the most active parents. They can tell us to get her temperature, we'll change her diaper and clothes, bundle her, and warm up her bottle. Most other parents aren't as active simply because they're probably not wanting to intrude on the nurses job.
I can't wait to bring my baby girl home!
Oh I hope u had an amazing "room in" and I hope 🤞 maybe she's on her way home today!!! So excited for u!!!
@eryka616 she is definitely ready to be home and we are excited and need her be to be home as well!
@tammij1313. Thank you!! It was exhausting, but this is life now! She'll more than likely go home tomorrow. She has an eye exam before she leaves. We know her eye sight won't be great, but it'll be nice to know what we're dealing with. She'll need glasses and hopefully she'll get them early on.
