@lexonmars I'm literally curled up in the fetal under 2 blankets with tshirt sweat pants and socks... fever chills and backache are just rolling in. The duct I think is mostly resolved. We will see in a few hours. Im trying to stay awake for Ruby's next feed... shes been trying to sleep through the night which is amazing but, NOT tonight... im waking her in 2 hours.

@ecahanes thanks... I get it around this time with every baby!! Once they start sleeping through the night and drinking more it just happens. It also doesnt help that I am a large breasted stomach sleeper...

I've been very busy this week so, I think this is natures wy of saying... sit the F down and chill the F out... and just focus on nursing in one spot relaxed and not on the go where i tend to rush feedings

@milky_mama2017 you can take antibiotics but, by the time I load up my kids in the car or ask DH to come home and watch them so I get to the ER it will be unplugged and by this time tomorrow ill be back to normal. the antibiotics for me cause more issues than theyre worth... I stay in bed and just nurse, massage the area and use hot compresses. Taking ibuprofen also helps.

If push comes to shove and the baby is full/not sucking hard enough I do like in that one episode of "weeds" and get DH in there. 😂😂😂parenting is teamwork after all.

So they don't give you any medicine or anything for it?

Ugh sorry that sucks and usually I hear once you get it once you can get it again easily. Feel better! 😣

@milky_mama2017 Girl... You just know... one day you're just living your life no big deal and BAM!!! In the matter of an hour or less you are feeling like you have been hit by a bus!!! A super sore spot that is red, the breast itself feels warm and last but NOT least.

. When you nurse it feels like your inner breast tissue is being set on fire and pulled out of your nipple and the let down reflex INTENSIFIES it !!!

Also, if you don't handle the situation at the very start you most likely will develop body aches and a wicked fever.

Luckily it is gone almost as quickly as it comes you just gotta nurse until the plugged/infected duct it emptied.
