I'm just going to put this out there. In laws should be taught to respect boundaries from the beginning. And if they refuse, then they should have to deal with the consequences of that disrespect . Not let do what they want and say what they want because "everyone has their opinion" and "that's just how they are".... Man I got a longggg married life ahead of me.

I had to block my future mother in law completely and even threaten to put a restraining order on her. She thinks she can just do and say whatever she wants. Uhh no. Not now and not ever. Me and my fiance have nothing to do with her. Hopefully your situation isn't that bad though.

@juliaschade41 I was hoping that since it's his family, he might do it... But it's starting to look like he won't. So we're having our first baby, their first nephew in October and that'll be the time I let loose (respectfully as I can) on everybody!!!!! No more silence from me. Hate me or love me.

Same boat. My boyfriends father has disrespected me every single time I've seen him. He's called me a bitch, cunt, trailer trash, stupid whore, etc. and on top of it he's an alcoholic and smokes crack. I try to let my boyfriend take care of it, but he kisses their ass & his mom does whatever she wants.
